A working child is a stolen childhood.

Today, on 12th June, as the world observes the World Day Against Child Labour, we are reminded of a harsh reality—millions of children around the globe are denied their childhood, education, and dignity. Instead of playing, learning, and dreaming, they are burdened with responsibilities that no child should ever bear.

Childhood is not meant for labor. It’s meant for learning, growing, and flourishing.

Despite global progress, child labour remains a grave challenge, especially in vulnerable communities. From fields and factories to homes and streets, children continue to work under unsafe conditions, often invisible to the world. Many are trapped in cycles of poverty and exploitation, with little hope for change.

At ADiBha She Vision, we are not just raising awareness — we are taking action.

Through our School Connect Program, we reach deep into underserved communities to:

📚 Provide access to quality education

🌱 Build awareness about child rights and protection

🩺 Address root causes like poverty, menstrual health, and social stigma

💼 Empower women and families with livelihood opportunities to prevent child labour at its roots. Because when families are empowered, children are protected.

A 12-year-old girl used to carry bricks on her head under the scorching sun, helping her parents at the construction site. She never imagined she could go to school. Today, with a school bag on her back and dreams in her eyes, she tells her younger sister, “We are building our lives now, not walls.

One girl was married off at 14, forced to leave school and forget her ambitions. Through ADiBha She Vision’s adolescent education program, she was rescued, re-enrolled, and today, she mentors other girls, saying: “I was once silenced. Now I speak up for others.”

Over the past few decades, we’ve made significant strides in reducing child labour across the world. Policies have been shaped, awareness has grown, and countless children have been given back their childhoods. But the truth is stark, 160 million children are still trapped in labour, many in hazardous and inhumane conditions.

Progress is visible—but not enough.

The theme for 2025 reminds us that while we have moved forward, the finish line is still far. Children continue to be forced into labour due to poverty, displacement, inequality, and lack of access to quality education. We cannot afford to slow down.

It’s time to speed up our efforts:

🔹 Push for stronger enforcement of child protection laws

🔹 Ensure free, inclusive, and quality education for every child

🔹 Support families with sustainable livelihood opportunities

🔹 Hold industries accountable for ethical labour practices

🔹 Build awareness at the grassroots to create community-led change

Every child deserves a life of dignity, joy, and opportunity—not one burdened with tools, factory dust, or exploitation. The responsibility to protect their rights lies with all of us—governments, civil society, educators, corporations, and individuals.

Let today be more than a day of awareness. Let it be a day of renewed action. Because the future of our world depends on how we protect and nurture our children today.

Progress is clear, but there’s more to do. Let’s speed up efforts.

Let us come together — policymakers, educators, civil society, and citizens — to create a world where no child’s hands are forced to work when they should be holding books and building dreams.

Join ADiBha She Vision in this mission. Let’s make childhood sacred again.

Education replaces exploitation, Dignity replaces silence, Livelihood support replaces generational labour.

👉 Let’s pledge today:

🔹 No child should work.

🔹 Every child must learn.

Let’s act. Let’s accelerate. Let’s end child labour—together.
